The main purpose
This standard specifies the test method for the surface burning performance of carpet when exposed to a small fire source in a horizontal position under the controlled conditions of the laboratory. It is suitable for carpets with various structures and fiber components.
principle
Under the specified test conditions, the horizontal position of the sample is exposed to the action of a small fire source, namely hexamethylenetetramine tablets, and the damage length and flame spread time after the test are measured.
